SolidNEST in Sync with Jeff Ray at SolidWorks World
(As seen on MCAD Cafe)
The SolidNEST team returned from their trip to Orlando, Florida with a great enthusiasm for 2009. Despite the continued economic concern, it was clear that the dozens of people who visited the SolidNEST booth at SolidWorks World were looking to make 2009 a great year.
Over 4300 people from across the globe attended the event at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin resort. Attendees at the show seemed eager to join Jeff Ray and the SolidWorks community in going green: cutting down on raw material waste and remnants, maximizing machine through-put, optimizing cutting cycles and saving programming time. Richard Branson, key note speaker at the opening assembly, energized the crowd by encouraging everyone to “think outside the box”, and to remember that innovation starts with engineers.
By using the advanced nesting, motion control and reporting capabilities of SigmaNEST software, SolidNEST offers manufacturers the tools they need to maximize productivity on the shop floor, allowing engineers to spend their time thinking creatively and innovatively about new ways technology can help reduce our impact on nature.

DesignPoint Solutions is pleased to announce the addition of SolidNEST® to its selection of design and manufacturing software solutions. SolidNEST is an automatic nesting and NC programming solution for sheet metal and profile cutting that runs inside SolidWorks®. Based on SigmaNEST's® powerful nesting technology, SolidNEST enables users to nest and generate NC code without leaving the SolidWorks interface. SolidNEST combines the superior nesting power of SigmaNEST with SolidWorks for a seamless transition from a 3-dimensional model in SolidWorks to generating NC code for laser, plasma, oxyfuel, waterjet, router, and punch through a single SolidWorks interface. SolidNEST is a SolidWorks Certified Gold Product which eliminates the need for an additional CAM program that transitions between SolidWorks and an NC code generator.
